Added Members Discipleship Ministry
Directors: Reverend & Mrs. Maurice Myrick
Mission Statement: To glorify God by assisting the Pastor to biblically disciple the added members of the church, maximize his/her potential in Christ, teach them how to grow spiritually and engage them in the work of the ministry. (John 8:31-32, I Corinthians 2:12, Ephesians 4:11-12).

Audio Visual Ministry
Director: George Rankins
Mission Statement: To enhance the sound and visual aspects of the worship services and other church activities through the use of audio and visual technology. It is of utmost importance that the Word of God goes forth with clarity and with power. (Colossians 2:16)

Children’s Church Ministry
Coordinator: Yolanda Peek
Mission Statement: To (1) reach saved and unsaved children, ages 4 – 12 years old, within the church and community; (2) to make disciples for Christ; (3) to meet the spiritual needs of children; (4) to teach children church etiquette, ordinances, and reverence for God’s house. (Matthew 28:19–20)

Christian Education Ministry
Director: Edwanita Richardson
Mission Statement: To equip training for ministries/auxiliaries, leadership, and the congregation that will move them to a higher level in their spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and Christian growth.

Mission Statement: To be of good cheer, hospitable to one another without complaint, attending to the needs of the saints, demonstrating love, and concern for God’s people.

Deaconess Ministry
Director: Janie Gilstrap
Mission Statement: To assist and support our Pastor and deacons in carrying out the spiritual needs of the women and girls of the church; cooperate with our Pastor and deacons in visiting members; and assist in the preparation of the ordinances of the church. (Titus 2:3-5)

Men’s Ministry
Director: Deacon John Whitehead
Mission Statement: Reproducing believers through the active pursuit of men to better connect them to God and His Word, and sharing our faith to lead them to their own personal relationship and fellowship with Jesus Christ. (Mark 1:17, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Missionary Society Ministry
Director: Rogers Richardson
Mission Statement: To glorify God by ministering to the human felt needs of the disadvantaged, the poor, the hungry, the sick and shut-in, and convalescent residents through Christian love, compassion, and care. (Philippians 4:13, Proverbs 14:21, Mark 8:1-3)

Mothers Board Ministry
Director: Mother Louise Simpson
Mission Statement: To provide a Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Holy Spirit-led perspective to our youth, teenagers, and mothers by teaching, advising and demonstrating to them how to walk Christ-like. This ministry is through seasoned mothers of the age 45 years and up. (Titus 2:3-4)

Music and Worship Arts (MWA)

Pastor’s Aide Ministry

Mission Statement: To minister to the whole man where needed; to provide spiritual, financial, and physical (food) and encouragement to our Pastor. To strive to be the leaders that the Lord would have us to be by sharing, caring, praying for our Pastor and family and the entire house of God and those that are in need. (1 Timothy 5:17)

Sunday School
Superintendent: Edwanita Richardson
Mission Statement: To help people of all ages study God’s word leading them to know and respond to Jesus Christ. It is our goal to effectively teach God’s word under the auspice of the Holy Spirit, thereby transforming lives spiritually. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 2 Timothy 2:15)

Technology Ministry

Mission Statement: To Exalt Christ Headship by providing technology services that edify, educate, and engage GEMBC members. This ministry also supports other ministries and the administrative office. (Colossians 3:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Transportation Ministry
Director: Deacon Fredrick Carlisle
Mission Statement: To provide transportation for those who have needs for the 10:30 am Worship service. The ministry also provides transportation for specific ministry needs as they arise. (Luke 14:23)

Usher Board Ministry
Director: Mother Norris Gordon
Mission Statement: To greet and provide hospitable service for the congregants, ensuring their needs are met while providing a watchful eye of the overall service. (Psalm 84:10b)

Vacation Bible School

Mission Statement: To offer a week of simple, yet creative teaching and learning experiences, whereby students, adults, and children, grow in their relationship with God, their understanding of the Bible and its implications for their Christian life. (Psalm 86:11)

Mission Statement: To lovingly serve the members of GEMBC in providing servanthood direction for planning their wedding in a timely, professional manner and that God is glorified by our service. All that we do we do unto Him. (Genesis 2:23-24)

  • Encourage unity and fellowship by bringing women together in the church.
  • Create an environment to expand spiritual growth and stimulate positive direction.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with internal, local and statewide auxiliaries and groups to promote God’s doctrine.
  • To enhance learning that will effectuate good decisions and to foster goodwill.  (Titus 2:1-6 and Proverbs 31:10-31)

Youth and Young Adult Ministry (YYAM)
Mission Statement:

  • To be a ministry driven by the Word of God.
  • To nourish, enrich and strengthen the children of God with the Knowledge of God.
  • Allowing them to be used by God in order to do the work of God; therefore, bringing other children to God.
  • We must focus on equipping them with every tool needed to be a child of God in a world against God.
  • Lastly, as they grow in age, our goal is that they grow in the Lord – Loving, Knowing, Experiencing Him in every aspect of life, in Spirit and Truth.
